A pretty oval peach/pink sapphire from Madagascar, of Padparadscha colour, set in 18 ct rose gold with a pair of brilliant cut diamonds, of 0.08 ct each, in platinum settings. Diamonds are F colour, VS clarity.

Made in a contemporary style, with an underwired setting, to allow for another ring to fit flush alongside.

Gemmologist's note: Sapphire, from the gem family Corundum (Al₂O₃) is second hardest only to diamond and has been used in fine jewellery for generations for its durability. Padparadscha sapphires, which are found in shades of pink or orange, are extremely rare and collectable and are named after the Sinhalese word for 'lotus flower'.
