Ruby and Diamond Three Stone Ring

This beautiful, fine colour oval ruby of 1.18 cts is from Burma, and we have mounted it in one of our signature three stone styles, claw set with precise talon claws and complemented by a pair of pearshape cut diamonds, of 0.20 ct the pair, of high grade F colour, VS clarity. The ring is made in 18ct yellow gold, with millgrain-finish platinum for the diamond settings.

The mount has been made in a contemporary style to allow another ring, such as an eternity or wedding ring, to sit flush alongside.

Gemmologist's note: Ruby, from the gem family Corundum (Al₂O₃) is the same mineral as blue sapphire. Both these beautiful gemstones would be colourless if pure, but traces of metallic oxides in the material give us wonderful red and blue stones. The names ruby and sapphire mean red and blue. Burma (or Myanmar as it is now known) is one of the most sought after locations for fine rubies.
